About the Burundi International Trade Fair
Transforming Burundi – the first ever International Trade Fair in Burundi, shorted as BITF, as part of Come and See Burundi (CSBU), one of the largest business event organisers in Burundi, offers a unique exposition for local and foreign manufacturers, suppliers, buyers and users of a wide range of goods and services as well as opportunities for investment and trade promotion in strategic areas. It also aims to build an efficient matchmaking platform for closer cooperation between “World Solution Providers and Burundi Business Hub”. Currently, our major businesses include business forums and conferences, trade fairs, tourism, real estate, energy and water infrastructures, IT & Telecoms, etc.
The African Union has developed an Agreement establishing the African Continental Free trade Area, which will bring together fifty-four African countries with a combined population of more than one billion people and a combined gross domestic product of more than US $3.4 trillion. At the crossroads of Central Africa and East Africa and at the centre of the Great Lakes region, Burundi aims to serve as a hub for trade between Central Africa and East Africa, and between Central and Southern Africa. Burundi is a member of regional economic blocs such as East African Community (EAC), the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), the Great Lakes Economic Community (CEPGL), etc.
Intraregional trade levels within the above named economic blocs remain low, indicating enormous potential for the growth of consumption, import and investments in the next years. This event provides a historic opportunity for African and across the world enterprises and investors to explore the huge Continental Market.
Come and See Burundi is inviting international companies in Agriculture and agro-based industry, Real Estate, Mining, IT and telecoms, Banking, Road, Transport, Energy and Water Infrastructures and Health sectors to join the BITF2019.
